Career:  Teacher
I graduated from the U of M in Missoula on the 6 year plan with a elementary education degree, then moved to the Bitter Root Valley. After a try at raising and training race horses, I settled down to teaching in the fall and working on a private wildlife refuge in the summer. Greg, Tobe and I love to go fishing and camping and when we're home we spend a lot of time "yarden & garden." I'm really looking forward to seeing you all - it's nice not to be a "missing person" anymore!

Update May 2003
I am currently living in St Louis, Mo.  I married just last year on June 8 and my wife, Heather, and we are expecting identical twins this summer.  We will name them John Houston and Trent Allen by order of birth.  My mother says that I took so much time getting started that the Good Lord is sending them down in twos to catch up.
I majored in Physical education - dance through undergraduate and graduate school and performed professionally for about 8 years as a modern dancer.  The way that I financed my way through school was by being an arborist.  For those that don't know what that is, it is a person that specializes in trees.   I specialized in heavy rigging removals of trees that are in tight or dangerous spots.  Many times I would go to rehearsals with wood chips still in my hair.
I have left dance and am now the grounds supervisor at the St Louis, Mo Temple (Morman) where I have been for the last year and a few months.

Update May 2000
Have run lots and lots. Was pictured on the cover of a national running store magazine running in beautiful downtown Marysville, Montana. Drove cross country to Virginia in an old Triumph for a British car show. What a blast! Haven't been married. Still working with computers. Am now working for the State of Montana - Jeanette (Bushnell) Nordahl is my boss. Pretty much sums up my last 10 years.

Family: Still single & looking so ... bought a house & got a dog. Rosie is a 9 year old healer/terier cross with the annoying habits found in both breeds.
Career: I operate a piano studio with approx. 50 students. I also am the accompanyist for the Helena High Choirs, have 2 church organist jobs and am a pianist at many community events.
Accomplishments: I am now a "Master Teacher" in the state of Montana. I have presented workshops and frequently adjudicate at music festivals. The pianist/accompanyist portion of my career has provided many free travel opportunities including a trip to the British Isles.
Teachers: Linda McClatchy (Amer. Gov.)
The greatest change in my life has been as a result of the discovery of a non-malignant brain tumor in 1995. Doctors, radiation, medication, & yearly MRI’s are now part of who I am; along with an increased awareness of the value of daily life & the importance of being true to myself.

Moved 9 times in 2 years. Lived in Utah, Illinois, and Montana (Great Falls and Helena). Tried to have a child in every state! Ha Ha. Hopefully we are settled down a little now, in Helena where we both wanted to end up. Not much else is going on. I'm looking forward to the reunion to see what everyone else has done.

*Editors Note: John failed to comply with the rules of filling out his 10 year summary so I have taken it upon myself to do it for him.  I first inquired with Robin Leach of the show "The Rich and Famous" he couldn't help.  I then tried the National Enquire.  I payed then a small fee for this current biography.  (Pay them enough and they'll print anything).  Editorial from National Enquirer printed Feb. 30 1988.  "JOHN VERBANAC TAKEN HOSTAGE ON UFO BY LITTLE GREEN PEOPLE."  John, no wonder you didn't give me a summary of the last ten years!!!
P.S.  They have editors following you daily now, undercover of course, in case your summary of the next ten years slips your mind!!  Karla.

I graduated from Carroll College with degrees in Biology and Psychology in 1984. At Carroll College I met Eileen MacNeill from Spokane, WA, who was a nursing student at the time. We were married in 1985. While I was attending dental school at the University of Minnesota, Eileen was studying for her MBA.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1988. I practiced in Minneapolis, MN, with a large group practice, Metro Dental Care until 1993. In 1993, we moved to Spokane, WA, with the desire to be closer to home. I purchased the north Spokane dental practice of Dr. Gary Bakken, who still continues to practice with us. I established Cascade Dental Care a few years ago and we are currently in the midst of a five year growth mode establishing general dentistry practices at multiple sites around Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, ID.
We have been blessed with three wonderful boys: Chip (6), Griffin (3) and Bryce (1). They are truly the most important part of our lives.

Classmates that you still "hang out" with:   Jane Green and Cathy Kaiser are the ones with whom I have the most contact now.

Child 1's name, age (or birth date), sex:  Darian, 21, Female (Darian is Keith's daughter)
What company do you work for:  Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS)

Explain your job:  I am responsible for the Permanency Planning and Independent Living programs for the Children and Family Services Division.  I write and interpret policy, train, and act as a consultant to field staff regarding working with children in the custody of OKDHS towards permanency and independent living.
Did you attend college (or are you attending college) and if so, what college(s) and what degree(s):  Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication, 1984, University of MT, Master of Social Work, University of Oklahoma, 1995
How and where did you meet your spouse:  I met my husband in 1986 at "furlough" party.  The state was making us take one day off per month without pay due to budget problems so we would have a party at a local club on the Thursday night before our furlough day.  I drove my secretary who was supposed to meet someone at the party.  The someone she was supposed to meet was Keith.  Keith and I began dating a week after this party and have been together ever since.  We were married in 1991.
Favorite teacher(s):  Senor Logan and Mr. Dekam
Your Favorite High School memory(s):  Too many to mention!  High school was so much fun!

What is the most bizarre thing you did in High School (that we can publish):I don't think this is a question I want to or will answer.
When you were a Freshman, what did you want to grow up to be:  I wanted to be an elementary teacher.
Tell us more about your children:  Keith and I obtained custody of his daughter when she was 9 years old but we never had children of our own.  Now we have moved on to grandparenthood.  Darian had a son in 2001, DeMarco Wayne Jones, Jr., (we call him DJ.)  He has spent a lot of his first years with us.  Darian continued to live with us until one month before he was born and then moved back in when he was 13 months old.  They may be moving out again soon but we have enjoyed having our grandbaby under our roof!  He is a character and brightens up this "Mimi's" day whenever he is around!  Darian continues to try to find her path.  We continue to hope she does!  Smile!
What have you been doing with yourself since High School (this is where you add any additional information):  I would say having had the ability to be close to my family has filled my life since high school.  I have had the opportunity to be involved in the lives of my nieces (I have three from my brother, Greg) and although never had children of my own, they helped to filled this need and they got to go home when I was tired.  My family moved to OK before I did, so when I moved here, I was moving to be near family.  I didn't think when I moved here that I was going to stay but when I met Keith, all that changed.  He is the responsible child in his family, so we have cared for his mother and brother too for many years.
